Ramesh Paudel is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Central Department of Economics, Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Kathmandu, Nepal. He served as a member of the National Planning Commission and a member of the Board of Trade, Government of Nepal on different occasions. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Australian National University and a Master of Research in Economics from the University of Wollongong, Australia. Paudel worked as an academician in Australia and Nepal for about 20 years. He brings an excellent combination of experiences in academia, research, and policymaking relevant to macroeconomics, financial economics, development economics, and international trade. His list of publications includes but is not limited to well-ranked international peer-reviewed journals, national journals, and book chapters of Oxford University Press, Springer, and other outlets. He has worked as a consultant to the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the United Nations, and the Nepal government on different occasions. During his tenure in NPC, he led a team in various stages, to draft a few chapters related to Education, Health, Urban Planning, and Infrastructure Development of the 16th National Plan.
