Kritipur
Dr Resham Thapa is an Associate Professor at Central Department of Economics, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He holds a PhD from the University of Hull, UK, and an MA in Economics from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He teaches Statistics for Economics, Mathematics for Economics, Econometrics, Microeconomics, and Professional Writing modules at MA, MPhil, and PhD levels. Dr Thapa is working on research grants from the University Grants Commission (UGC), the South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE), and the National Priority Research Grant, Tribhuvan University. His research seamlessly connects economic theory with practical policy solutions, addressing key issues such as fiscal discipline, resource allocation, and the socio-economic effects of conservation areas. Dr Thapa has served on Nepal’s Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council and provided consultancies to various government and non-governmental organisations. He is currently interested in the institutional perspective of causal inference, ecological macroeconomics, and social-environmental systems modelling.
