IQAC Committee

Background and Objective

The Higher Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation Regulations, 2077 B.S. (2020 A.D.) have emphasized the need for quality assurance and enhancement mechanisms for the overall development of higher education. In line with this, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has implemented arrangements for establishing Internal Quality Assurance Committees (IQAC) in higher education institutions.

The goal is to create an internal mechanism to assure and improve the quality of academic, administrative, and institutional activities in accordance with national and international standards. Through these arrangements, institutions are expected to continuously improve teaching, learning, research, and administrative systems, thereby ensuring quality education.

The objective of these directives is to provide a clear framework for establishing, operating, and strengthening IQACs in higher education institutions. This framework aims to:

  • Enhance quality and relevance of academic programs in line with stakeholders’ needs.
  • Promote systematic internal monitoring and evaluation of institutional performance.
  • Ensure readiness for external quality assurance and accreditation processes.
  • Encourage a culture of quality across all levels of the institution.
